Gilvan Ramalho started the match with the kick off. Amauri Mineiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilvan Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Ramiro Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Amauri Mineiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilvan Ramalho in the 6th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilvan Ramalho in the 8th minute of play forced CRB's goalkeeper Amauri Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to CRB getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Sebastião Chaves hit a great ball. Ramiro Vidal struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Amauri Mineiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pindoretama. If Gilvan Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 19 played minutes CRB got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Carioca. 21 minutes into the match, Pindoretama's Ramiro Vidal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amauri Mineiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Vidal in the 25th minute of play forced CRB's goalkeeper Amauri Mineiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alessandro Quintal in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaltino Mendes saved Pindoretama from getting behind. Amauri Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilvan Ramalho in the 31st minute of play. If Ramiro Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilvan Ramalho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amauri Mineiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Amauri Mineiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Vidal in the 47th minute of the match.

In the 52nd minute, Gilvan Ramalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in CRB's zone, Gilvan Ramalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amauri Mineiro came out of the goal and Gilvan Ramalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 56 minutes, Ramiro Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pindoretama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramiro Vidal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, CRB's Luís Fabiano Terra got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Pindoretama's Júnior Arantes took a good shot, in the 63rd minute, which hit the crossbar above Amauri Mineiro's head, and flew over the goal. CRB's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Pindoretama. In the 70th minute of the match, Juvenal Rocha tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Amauri Mineiro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ramiro Vidal struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Amauri Mineiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pindoretama. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pindoretama's goalkeeper Isaltino Mendes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rodriguinho Simão struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Isaltino Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CRB. CRB's Amauri Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilvan Ramalho in the 88th minute of play. Isaltino Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Pindoretama supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pindoretama would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
