Sérgio Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Santana in the 18th minute of play. Diogo do Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Maranhense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th match minute, Tricolor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Messias to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo Catarinense in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diogo do Valle saved Tricolor from getting behind. Abelardo Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Diogo do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Paulo Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Tricolor fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Tricolor's Cássio Santana looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 43 minutes, Cássio Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tricolor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnaldo Messias charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnaldo Messias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Arnaldo Messias kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Maranhense to make the kick off. Eriberto Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cássio Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Cássio Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Santana in the 67th minute of play forced Moraes A.C's goalkeeper Sérgio Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sérgio Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After 72 minutes, Luisinho Souto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tricolor and the Moraes A.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luisinho Souto kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. José Augusto Silva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Diogo do Valle. After having played for 94 minutes, Cássio Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tricolor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eriberto Santana struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Sérgio Pena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tricolor. When the referee ended the match the Tricolor players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
