The crowd rose to their feet as Luís da Silveira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mário Montenegro. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. If Marcel da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldo Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Mário Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís da Silveira in the 60th minute of play forced Magalhaes's goalkeeper Mário Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dorian de Senna took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vitório Faria. Vitório Faria dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After 67 played minutes Amapa got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Teles. Dorian de Senna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mário Montenegro came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Amapa's Luís da Silveira. Mário Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Salgado in the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Luís da Silveira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Amapa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Mário Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute.
