In the 20th minute Victor Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandão Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fellipe Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Christiano Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jânio Garcia was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 25th minute. Maquina Quente FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Christiano Lara came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Maquina Quente FC's Fellipe Aguiar. But to his dismay, Fellipe Aguiar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 31 minutes into the match, Maquina Quente FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nilson Neiva came free, but Fernandão Gerber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lúcio Peres charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lúcio Peres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Maquina Quente FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Lúcio Peres hit a great ball. Fernandão Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Silva in the 35th minute of play. Maquina Quente FC's Jânio Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victor Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Fernandão Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Christiano Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jânio Garcia in the 51st minute of the match. Sílvio Luís Souza hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. When Jânio Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Maquina Quente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jânio Garcia couldn't finish the play. 68 minutes into the match, C.A.Paulistano's goal looked a bit too open when Fellipe Aguiar came free, but Christiano Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 played minutes Maquina Quente FC got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Souza. If Victor Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nilson Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Fernandão Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jânio Garcia in the 81st minute of play forced C.A.Paulistano's goalkeeper Christiano Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wágner Loyola during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, C.A.Paulistano's Wágner Loyola got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in C.A.Paulistano's zone, Fellipe Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiano Lara came out of the goal and Fellipe Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Fernandão Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 94 minutes, Victor Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Paulistano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
