In the 31st minute Enio Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edson Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, CA Independente's goal looked a bit too open when Enio Quadros came free, but Edson Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Leonel Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reginaldo Linares was relentless in the 50th minute of the game.

Boacu's Reginaldo Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Barros in the 67th minute of play. Leonel Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CA Independente's Edson Zonta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enio Garcia in the 78th minute of play. A very good chance for a goal. Benjamin Arruda struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Reginaldo Linares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CA Independente. 92 minutes into the match, CA Independente's goal looked a bit too open when Enio Quadros came free, but Edson Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clóvis França was slow to take the kick. During this time Boacu's players had a chance to rest. In the 101st minute, Enio Garcia made a precise shot to the right of Edson Zonta. CA Independente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. CA Independente's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
