Afonsinho Dionísio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Barros in the 21st minute of the match. Cristian Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. If Leonel Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Acácio Monteiro to make the kick off. The supporters of CA Independente booed when Sertanopolis SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germano Massa's late challenge caught a Sertanopolis SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Luiz Proença showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Benjamin Arruda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afonsinho Dionísio having to make a save. 88 minutes into the match, Sertanopolis SS's Acácio Monteiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edson Zonta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 92 minutes into the game, CA Independente's Leonel Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
