Spectators: 6656 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luís Linares kicked off to start the match. Zé Roberto Valle made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Marcus Vidal sent off a good shot on target. Nilson Quaresma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wágner Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 9th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vivaldo Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Altair FC defense, Luís Linares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilson Quaresma. The Altair FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilson Quaresma should have stopped the shot. Luís Linares took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nilson Quaresma. Nilson Quaresma dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Nilson Quaresma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wágner Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 30 minutes of play, Altair FC's Zézinho Mota made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Roberto Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bernardo Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flávio Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. The long shot by Benê Rosado in the 38th minute really tested Zé Roberto Valle's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Zé Roberto Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zézinho Mota in the 45th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Antônio Carlos Matos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zé Roberto Valle. That made the score 2-2 in the 46 minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Altair FC's Nilson Quaresma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Linares in the 54th minute of play. Antônio Carlos Matos kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Vidal in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Roberto Valle saved Corinthians from getting behind. Zézinho Mota's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Roberto Valle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th minute Luís Linares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Quaresma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Bruninho Pinheiro hit a great ball. Altair FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Vivaldo Magalhães scored to the left of an out of position Nilson Quaresma, making the score, 2-3. After 74 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Vivaldo Magalhães. Marcus Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Valle having to interfere. Nilson Quaresma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Linares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Moura in the 83rd minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nilson Quaresma was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luís Linares showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 85 minute of play. In the 89th minute Marcus Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcus Vidal in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Roberto Valle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nilson Quaresma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Linares in the 96th minute of play. 98 minutes into the game, Altair FC's Bernardo Moura nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Roberto Valle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. The Corinthians players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
