The referee showed Bruno Moreno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th minute, Bruno Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomé Barral came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Izumi F.C.'s Dito Quirino. But to his dismay, Dito Quirino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 18th match minute, São José F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juninho Santana to maneuver through the defense. After 20 played minutes São José F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei Lago. Gildo Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Percy Pinhos short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Duda Pereira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 27th match minute, São José F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto Bertassi to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th match minute, Izumi F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Soares to maneuver through the defense. Percy Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Duda Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Percy Pinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Duda Pereira having to make a save. Duda Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percy Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nando Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duda Pereira having to interfere. Dito Quirino's late challenge caught a São José F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dito Quirino helped the player get up and apologised. Juninho Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duda Pereira having to interfere. After the first half Izumi F.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dito Quirino to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to São José F. C. getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Bruno Moreno hit a great ball. When Izumi F.C.'s Joel Amaral in 65 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Tomé Barral guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Percy Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Joel Amaral could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Tomé Barral however easily saved by the left post. Percy Pinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Duda Pereira having to make a save. When São José F. C.'s Percy Pinho in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Izumi F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice moves Ricardinho Lira could shoot a difficult shot in the 88th minute, which Tomé Barral however easily saved by the left post. São José F. C.'s Tomé Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Macedo in the 90th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Dito Quirino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomé Barral was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. If Paulo Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Percy Pinho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The São José F. C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Izumi F.C. succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though São José F. C. had controlled the match.
