Raúl Tasso's late challenge caught a Vasco Ipameri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raúl Tasso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th match minute, Ponciano AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Jeremias Tepedino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donato Penha's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Donato Penha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jeremias Tepedino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Donato Penha who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Jeremias Tepedino when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Donato Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias Tepedino having to interfere. When Donato Penha came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Vasco Ipameri fans jumped to their feet. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donato Penha to make the kick off.
