The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in UsGuri's zone, Donato Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Neto came out of the goal and Donato Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Renatinho Domingues struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Rogério Ceni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UsGuri. After a rather tough play, UsGuri's Dito Moreira got a free kick in the 7th minute. Joel de Azevedo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. UsGuri's Cristian Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luís Tepedino in the 14th minute of play. After a rather tough play, UsGuri's Renatinho Domingues got a free kick in the 15th minute. Cristian Neto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The audience was convinced that Donato Penha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristian Neto was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. After 22nd play minutes Donato Penha shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Cristian Neto and just under the crossbar into goal. After 27 minutes, Donato Penha made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. The referee ignored UsGuri's protests and gave Renatinho Domingues a yellow card for diving instead. Renatinho Domingues hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. If Donato Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Donato Penha made a kick off. Donato Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Neto having to interfere. Cristian Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademar Marinho in the 92nd minute of the match. Donato Penha made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 93rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Cristian Neto would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After a rather tough play, UsGuri's Ernani Sergipano got a free kick in the 95th minute. Vasco Ipameri's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
