Paulinho Marques hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Virgílio Brasil hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. When Vítor Ortiz fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tauarua's protests and gave Vítor Ortiz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Itapiruçu booed when Tauarua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseu Vasconcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vítor Ortiz's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. 34 minutes into the game, Tauarua's Elivélton Vale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliseu Vasconcelos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Vítor Ortiz struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Eliseu Vasconcelos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tauarua. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Ortiz in the 44th minute of play forced Itapiruçu's goalkeeper Eliseu Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseu Vasconcelos came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Tauarua's Vítor Ortiz. But to his dismay, Vítor Ortiz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Romeu Marquez to strike the kick off in the second half. Eliseu Vasconcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vítor Ortiz's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Tauarua's Geraldo Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu Marquez in the 56th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Itapiruçu's goal looked a bit too open when Elivélton Vale came free, but Eliseu Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Romeu Marquez came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Itapiruçu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeu Marquez couldn't finish the play. Eliseu Vasconcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elivélton Vale in the 67th minute of the match. Eliseu Vasconcelos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vítor Ortiz's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, Itapiruçu's Amílton Rocha got a free kick in the 78th minute. Virgílio Brasil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tauarua's Vítor Ortiz got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vítor Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Eliseu Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Ortiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliseu Vasconcelos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vítor Ortiz ran back to his position shaking his head.
