Leria FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raí de Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Itapiruçu's zone, Raí de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliseu Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Raí de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raí de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Itapiruçu's José Paulo Tavares got a free kick in the 15th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Telmo Madureira in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliseu Vasconcelos saved Itapiruçu from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raí de Almeida in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliseu Vasconcelos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Telmo Madureira took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliseu Vasconcelos. Eliseu Vasconcelos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 30th minute Raí de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgílio Brasil struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Armandinho de Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapiruçu. 35 minutes into the game, Leria FC's Raí de Almeida nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliseu Vasconcelos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 43rd minute Diamantino Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Vasconcelos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Telmo Madureira in the 44th minute of play forced Itapiruçu's goalkeeper Eliseu Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Virgílio Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Telmo Madureira to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Itapiruçu's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Madureira came free, but Eliseu Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseu Vasconcelos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 76th minute, Diamantino Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romeu Marquez scored 1-3 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armandinho de Lara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raí de Almeida got free with Eliseu Vasconcelos in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armandinho de Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeu Marquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 88th minute, Romeu Marquez made a precise shot to the right of Armandinho de Lara. Leria FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. After having played for 93 minutes, Romeu Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vito Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The Leria FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Leria FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
