Arsenal Dark FC's Faustão Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Neiva in the 30th minute of play. With a little luck, Popular FC's Gil Velasco got control of the ball when Jacinto de Andrade tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Popular FC's zone, Caio Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Velasco came out of the goal and Caio Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Popular FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Serafim de Salles hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 55thth minute of the game Jacinto de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Popular FC's Gil Velasco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Augusto Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gil Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute Jacinto de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 71 minutes, Jacinto de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arsenal Dark FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto de Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jacinto de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Arsenal Dark FC fans jumped to their feet. The supporters of Arsenal Dark FC booed when Popular FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcinho Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dedé Luz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jacinto de Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Velasco having to interfere. Caio Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 89th minute Augusto Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacinto de Andrade's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil Velasco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The Arsenal Dark FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Popular FC to win.
