Serraninho FC's Evaristo Massa got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 25 minutes into the game, Evaristo Massa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tostão de Toledo. Evaristo Massa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Leandro Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Célio das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Serraninho FC's zone, Leandro Cordeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio das Neves came out of the goal and Leandro Cordeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Claudinho Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hudson Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Célio das Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Cordeiro in the 43rd minute of the match. Nildo de Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nildo de Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nildo de Medeiros hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the game, Leandro Cordeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Célio das Neves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Serraninho FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. S.C Internacional were winning 1-3.

The wind increased when Evaristo Massa made the kick off in the second half. If Hudson Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Oséias Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tostão de Toledo having to interfere. Leandro Cordeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Célio das Neves made a huge save. 61 minutes into the game, Serraninho FC's Oséias Mattos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tostão de Toledo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. After 66 minutes of play, S.C Internacional's Leandro Cordeiro made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Célio das Neves was left in no man's land by his defense there! Serraninho FC's Oséias Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Humberto Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Leandro Cordeiro could shoot a difficult shot in the 81st minute, which Célio das Neves however easily saved by the left post. With his leg Célio das Neves managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when S.C Internacional's Leandro Cordeiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Leandro Cordeiro struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Célio das Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C Internacional. S.C Internacional's Iuri Fantini suffered a concussion in the 90th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Célio das Neves made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Leandro Cordeiro sent off a good shot on target. 97 minutes into the match, Serraninho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jailson Perez came free, but Célio das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over S.C Internacional could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Serraninho FC throughout the match.
