Paripi's Filipe Diniz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Paripi from getting a goal against them. 36 minutes into the game, Nilmar Vinhas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paripi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.C Internacional the free kick. After 36 played minutes Paripi got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Vinhas. Hudson Coelho was extremely unlucky when he, in the 38th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 39 minutes into the match, Leandro Cordeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Filipe Diniz. Paripi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leandro Cordeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 43rdth minute of the game Hudson Coelho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paripi's Filipe Diniz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Leandro Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C Internacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Leandro Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe Diniz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Filipe Diniz was a little too slow when Hudson Coelho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 3-1.

When S.C Internacional's Hudson Coelho in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paripi's goalie prevented a goal. Filipe Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Leandro Cordeiro notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Paripi's Filipe Diniz. Filipe Diniz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 61st minute, Hudson Coelho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filipe Diniz was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Filipe Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Cordeiro in the 64th minute of play. Tostão de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Cruz in the 66th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Abreu got free with Tostão de Toledo in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, S.C Internacional's Humberto Penha got a free kick in the 69th minute. Filipe Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Cordeiro in the 73rd minute of the match. Paripi's Filipe Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Cordeiro in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, S.C Internacional's Frank da Silveira broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Vivaldo Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Leandro Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C Internacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Leandro Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filipe Diniz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tostão de Toledo having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. S.C Internacional had played much better football throughout.
