But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laércio Velloso couldn't finish the play. If Hortêncio Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Josué Oliveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elivélton Donatello was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. The supporters of Desgraça FC booed when Real Madruga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wesley Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elivélton Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wesley Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aírton Trigo having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Aírton Trigo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hortêncio Aparecido scored 1-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aírton Trigo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 53rd minute Desgraça FC were awarded a corner. Almir Catarinense went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 58th minute, Gustavo Coelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Real Madruga's Almir Amaral got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Josué Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 66 played minutes Real Madruga got a freekick which was hit by Almir Amaral. If Hortêncio Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Laércio Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Madruga's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio Velloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aírton Trigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aírton Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Almir Amaral in the 77th minute of the match. Laércio Velloso struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Aírton Trigo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Madruga. If Wesley Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Real Madruga's Laércio Velloso in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Desgraça FC's goalie prevented a goal. Aírton Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Velloso in the 97th minute of play.
