Spectators: 7223 (Terracing: 5419, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Anselmo Tasso started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Anselmo Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Tasso in the 26th minute of play. Anselmo Tasso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francisco Mesquita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 31 minutes, Anselmo Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carazinho FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Fabiano Azevedo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Sidnei Ferraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Carazinho FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Diguinho Passos hit a great ball. Francisco Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dênis Penha in the 43rd minute of play. Armando Coutinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Bernardo Quirino made a huge save. The supporters of Charrua FC booed when Carazinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Armando Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Loyola to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55thth minute of the game Marcelo Loyola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carazinho FC's Bernardo Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Carazinho FC's zone, Armando Coutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Quirino came out of the goal and Armando Coutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 62 minutes into the game, Charrua FC's Marcelo Loyola nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernardo Quirino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 66 minutes into the match, Dênis Penha notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Charrua FC's Francisco Mesquita. Francisco Mesquita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Francisco Mesquita successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Anselmo Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carazinho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Tasso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Mesquita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dênis Penha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Francisco Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Mesquita having to interfere. The Charrua FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Carazinho FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
