In the 8th minute, Ricardinho Pombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Saecinza's goalkeeper Júlio Alagoano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giovani Sampaio. 12 minutes into the match, Desgraça FC's goal looked a bit too open when Juarês da Rocha came free, but Aírton Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Sandro Secco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saecinza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Desgraça FC the free kick. In the 13th match minute, Saecinza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Secco to maneuver through the defense. Aírton Trigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juarês da Rocha's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute Juarês da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aírton Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Desgraça FC booed when Saecinza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juarês da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Secco in the 29th minute of play forced Desgraça FC's goalkeeper Aírton Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saecinza's Júlio Alagoano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Tinoco in the 33rd minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Desgraça FC's goal looked a bit too open when Juarês da Rocha came free, but Aírton Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Desgraça FC's zone, Ricardinho Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aírton Trigo came out of the goal and Ricardinho Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Clemente Paiva could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Júlio Alagoano however easily saved by the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juarês da Rocha to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Paiva in the 52nd minute of play forced Saecinza's goalkeeper Júlio Alagoano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Juarês da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saecinza's supporters rose to their feet, but Juarês da Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aírton Trigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 55 minutes into the game, Desgraça FC's Clemente Paiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Júlio Alagoano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. A hard shot by Juninho Montenegro from long distance, 69 minutes into the match, got Aírton Trigo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. But to his dismay, Josué Oliveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Desgraça FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
