Bernardo Quirino was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Hélder Leite capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hélder Leite really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Dênis Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo Varela having to interfere. If Dênis Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. NSK's Murilo Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dênis Penha in the 40th minute of play. A collision led to Carazinho FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Dênis Penha hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 47th minute by Duarte Schmidt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélder Leite to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute NSK were awarded a corner. Diamantino Velasco went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 57th minute Anselmo Tasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murilo Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernardo Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Carazinho FC's zone, Hélder Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Quirino came out of the goal and Hélder Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 70 minutes into the match, NSK's Hélder Leite sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Quirino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dênis Penha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Murilo Varela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Carazinho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramón Silveira to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the match, Sidnei Ferraz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Murilo Varela, 2-1.
