In the 18th minute Dênis Penha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandinho Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dênis Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Mendes having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Capenema PR got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Freitas. When Telmo Freitas got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Capenema PR. 26 minutes into the match, Capenema PR's goal looked a bit too open when Dênis Penha came free, but Fernandinho Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Wilson Fantini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernandinho Mendes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After having played for 33 minutes, Diguinho Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carazinho FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diguinho Passos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Carazinho FC booed when Capenema PR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wilson Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernandinho Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dênis Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ramón Marquez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carazinho FC's Dênis Penha got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fred Cabral hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Sandro Capixaba didn't quite understand what happened when in the 58 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. In the 59th minute, Tony Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dênis Penha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Fernandinho Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilson Fantini got free with Fernandinho Mendes in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carazinho FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
