The referee ignored Capenema PR's protests and gave Wilian Dracena a yellow card for diving instead. Elivélton Donatello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Telmo Freitas's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. 9 minutes into the game, Ramón Marquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capenema PR's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Madruga the free kick. Ramón Marquez hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Hortêncio Aparecido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Fernandinho Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute Laércio Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandinho Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laércio Velloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernandinho Mendes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laércio Velloso ran back to his position shaking his head. Fernandinho Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Velloso in the 22nd minute of play. In the 29th minute Laércio Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandinho Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramón Marquez in the 32nd minute of play forced Real Madruga's goalkeeper Elivélton Donatello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Hortêncio Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laércio Velloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernandinho Mendes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laércio Velloso ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Laércio Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Madruga's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio Velloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandinho Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Capenema PR players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Real Madruga were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramón Marquez to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ramón Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capenema PR's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón Marquez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elivélton Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 56 minutes, Wesley Corrêa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Madruga and the Capenema PR players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 56 played minutes Real Madruga got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Corrêa. Elivélton Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Fernandinho Mendes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Ramón Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Velloso in the 69th minute of play forced Capenema PR's goalkeeper Fernandinho Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Fernandez during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jorge Fernandez hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After having played for 73 minutes, Telmo Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capenema PR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Telmo Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ramón Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elivélton Donatello having to interfere. The supporters of Capenema PR booed when Real Madruga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wesley Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Capenema PR's Telmo Freitas managed to work through Real Madruga's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Telmo Freitas dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Hortêncio Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
