In the 4th minute, Júlio Paraense made a precise shot to the right of Luiz Fabiano Queiroz. Blumenkranz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 7 played minutes Knights Of Cydonia got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Pinho. 10 minutes into the match, Duda Castro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felipe Cunha. Knights Of Cydonia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Duda Castro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Blumenkranz's Leopoldo Lopes got a free kick in the 15th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gil Alves during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Knights Of Cydonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil Alves to maneuver through the defense. Dorival de Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Dorival de Sousa notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Knights Of Cydonia's Felipe Cunha. Felipe Cunha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 26th match minute, Knights Of Cydonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Pereira to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute Arí Godoi managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Duda Castro struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Felipe Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blumenkranz. 30 minutes into the match Dorival de Sousa climbed in front of goal and pressed up 3-1 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Felipe Cunha. Felipe Cunha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Duda Castro in the 34th minute. Luiz Fabiano Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 minutes of play, Blumenkranz's Dorival de Sousa made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felipe Cunha was left in no man's land by his defense there! Iuri Ramos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felipe Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, Blumenkranz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Massa to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duda Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Júlio Paraense kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luiz Fabiano Queiroz. That made the score 4-2 in the 54 minute of play. If Duda Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute Júlio Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fabiano Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duda Castro in the 66th minute of play forced Knights Of Cydonia's goalkeeper Felipe Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68thth minute of the game Duda Castro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Knights Of Cydonia's Felipe Cunha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Felipe Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival de Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 5-2 when Duda Castro sped through Knights Of Cydonia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Felipe Cunha. Hortêncio de Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hortêncio de Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hortêncio de Medeiros hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duda Castro in the 89th minute of play forced Knights Of Cydonia's goalkeeper Felipe Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felipe Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duda Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, Duda Castro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felipe Cunha. Blumenkranz walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
