Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Júlio Paraense to make the kick off. Gil Alves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Edgar Tepedino made a huge save. Felipe Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eugênio Oliveira's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Christian Messias charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
