Fiori Netto came out of the goal and Ian Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lenílson de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Fiori Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noel de Souza struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. William Garcia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GRÊMIO FOOT-BALL POA. Conrado Lira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Garcia having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Conrado Lira made a precise shot to the right of William Garcia. Gladiadores FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 30th minute Conrado Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Didi Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Fiori Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nando Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 46 played minutes GRÊMIO FOOT-BALL POA got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Lira. Ian Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nando Ortiz to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of GRÊMIO FOOT-BALL POA booed when Gladiadores FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nando Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gladiadores FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Noel de Souza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nando Ortiz in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fiori Netto saved GRÊMIO FOOT-BALL POA from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched GRÊMIO FOOT-BALL POA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
