The crowd rose to their feet as Acarau SC's Giovani Fantini slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rui da Silva. That made the score 1-0 after 23 minutes of play. 26 minutes into the match, Acarau SC's goal looked a bit too open when Agnaldo Negri came free, but Rodolfo Rosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
