The referee ignored Belford FC's protests and gave Dida Mattos a yellow card for diving instead. Evandro Veiga's late challenge caught a Friburguense FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evandro Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. Evandro Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Belford FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo Ferreira came free, but Adhemar Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Belford FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! In the 30th minute, Carlinhos Marques made a precise shot to the right of Adhemar Corrêa. Belford FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Carlinhos Marques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlinhos Marques struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Adhemar Corrêa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Friburguense FC. Ramón Custódio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacinto Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fellipe Lopez in the 45th minute of the match. Belford FC's Adhemar Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Belford FC from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Lino Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Lino Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 minutes, Zé Paulo Ferreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Friburguense FC and the Belford FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
