Roberto de Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leopoldo Britto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Roberto de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. After 70 minutes of play, Arruda Futebol Clube's Wellington Soares made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Osvaldo Lago was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Wellington Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arruda Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Leopoldo Britto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eusébio Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Leopoldo Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Arruda Futebol Clube fans cheered their team off the field, for while Arranca Toco FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
