In the 20thth minute of the game Pedro Luís Machado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Clube Atlético dos Craque's Diogo Couto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Edson Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastião Godoi made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Tarcisio Ceresso sent off a good shot on target.
