In the 12th minute, Telmo Baiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Baumart Team's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fábio de Carvalho came free, but Juninho Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mário Tinoco hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Baumart Team's Jonas Botelho got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, Joélson de Andrade sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Baumart Team's Juninho Sarmento didn't even have to move. Telmo Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Juninho Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Baumart Team defense, Luís Fábio de Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juninho Sarmento. The Baumart Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juninho Sarmento should have stopped the shot. Túlio Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raí da Mata having to interfere. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Raí da Mata, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Baumart Team were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
