When Charles Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Muri EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Abreu couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the match, Os Cientistas F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Abreu came free, but Pedro Paulo Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Os Cientistas F.C's zone, Charles Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Paulo Sena came out of the goal and Charles Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Paulo Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Pedro Paulo Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Abreu in the 38th minute of play. If Charles Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. In the 44th minute, Simão de Castro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Erasmo Pimenta. The goal made the score 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

If Charles Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Os Cientistas F.C's Pedro Paulo Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilson Prata in the 62nd minute of play. Charles Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erasmo Pimenta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo José Paraense in the 68th minute of the match. The supporters of Os Cientistas F.C booed when Muri EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yuri da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Muri EC's goal looked a bit too open when Cleiton Lira came free, but Erasmo Pimenta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 76 played minutes Os Cientistas F.C got a freekick which was hit by Cleiton Lira. In the 82nd minute, Elano Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Os Cientistas F.C's zone, Charles Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Paulo Sena came out of the goal and Charles Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes into the game, Muri EC's Charles Abreu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Paulo Sena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Muri EC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
