Pedrão Varela started the match with the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gualter Castro in the 2nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arlindo Urbano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gualter Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Urbano having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jailson Lima got free with Arlindo Urbano in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Arlindo Urbano managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when ZASS's Jailson Lima fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Varjoia booed when ZASS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Dante didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jailson Lima got free with Arlindo Urbano in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Gualter Castro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arlindo Urbano was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Gualter Castro struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Arlindo Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ZASS. Arlindo Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Varjoia's zone, Gualter Castro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arlindo Urbano came out of the goal and Gualter Castro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 32 minutes, Giovani Chaves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varjoia and the ZASS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of Varjoia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ZASS:s goal. The referee gave ZASS a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Armando Amaral, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Varjoia's Arlindo Urbano. 2-0. ZASS's Luciano Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Varela in the 43rd minute of play. If Gualter Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gualter Castro was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, César Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jailson Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Urbano having to interfere. ZASS's Jailson Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, Gualter Castro notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Varjoia's Arlindo Urbano. Arlindo Urbano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. ZASS walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
