After 4 minutes of play, Guaimim FC's Gernando Quadros made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elano de Carvalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 8th minute Rodrigo Bertassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Vrau AxT's Rodrigo Bertassi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Paulo Mesquita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Augusto Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Rodrigo Bertassi hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 13 played minutes Vrau AxT got a freekick which was hit by Naldo Dionísio. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Rubens Brasil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vrau AxT's supporters rose to their feet, but Rubens Brasil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Paulo Mesquita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Afonsinho Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Rodrigo Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubens Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Mesquita having to interfere. Rodrigo Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Paulo Mesquita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rubens Brasil's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Gernando Quadros recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elano de Carvalho. Gernando Quadros showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. With a little luck, Vrau AxT's Elano de Carvalho got control of the ball when Afonsinho Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Paulo Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubens Brasil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rodrigo Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marco Capixaba hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Guaimim FC's Marco Capixaba got a free kick in the 41st minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rubens Brasil to make the kick off. Guaimim FC's Afonsinho Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Guaimim FC's zone, Rubens Brasil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Paulo Mesquita came out of the goal and Rubens Brasil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonsinho Montenegro in the 61st minute of play forced Vrau AxT's goalkeeper Elano de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 63 minutes, Luiz Paulo Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vrau AxT and the Guaimim FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Vrau AxT's zone, Gernando Quadros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elano de Carvalho came out of the goal and Gernando Quadros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Vrau AxT getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Pedrinho Cordeiro hit a great ball. Elano de Carvalho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Afonsinho Montenegro went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 80th minute, Augusto Terra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gernando Quadros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elano de Carvalho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. If Afonsinho Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Guaimim FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rodrigo Bertassi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 91 minutes into the match, Guaimim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens Brasil came free, but Luís Paulo Mesquita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute Rubens Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Mesquita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guaimim FC's Luís Paulo Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubens Brasil in the 94th minute of play. Vrau AxT's Rubens Brasil got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 98th minute, Afonsinho Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guaimim FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Guaimim FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
