Frederico Zonta was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 4 minutes into the match. In the 3rd minute, one of Clube Atlético Indaiatuba:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Clube Atlético Indaiatuba. After 10 played minutes São Paulo Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Tavares. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Pedro Travassos in the 13th minute of play forced Clube Atlético Indaiatuba's goalkeeper Vânderson Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 minutes of play, São Paulo Futebol Clube's Jaime Tavares made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vânderson Linhares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luisão Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Adolfo Dracena having to interfere. Luisão Vianna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. João Adolfo Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gabriel Lucas came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Clube Atlético Indaiatuba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Lucas couldn't finish the play. João Adolfo Dracena stood somewhat misplaced when José Toscano came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 29 minute. After 31 played minutes Clube Atlético Indaiatuba got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Lucas. In the 34th minute, Gabriel Lucas fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Zé Carlos Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Adolfo Dracena having to interfere. São Paulo Futebol Clube's Claudinei Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 43 played minutes Clube Atlético Indaiatuba got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Amaral. José Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. João Adolfo Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when José Toscano made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, José Toscano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of João Adolfo Dracena. São Paulo Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Toscano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Luisão Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Adolfo Dracena having to interfere. João Adolfo Dracena came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Atlético Indaiatuba's José Toscano. But to his dismay, José Toscano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Bernardinho Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Luisão Vianna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Adolfo Dracena having to make a save. Patrick Figueiredo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for João Adolfo Dracena. São Paulo Futebol Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Toscano in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Adolfo Dracena saved São Paulo Futebol Clube from getting behind. José Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Adolfo Dracena having to interfere. Gabriel Lucas took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Adolfo Dracena. João Adolfo Dracena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 5-3 when José Toscano sped through São Paulo Futebol Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Adolfo Dracena. If Gabriel Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 played minutes São Paulo Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Alvarenga. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Gabriel Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atlético Indaiatuba's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Lucas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Adolfo Dracena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Adolfo Dracena having to interfere. Clube Atlético Indaiatuba walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
