With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lino Galvão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, BANGU F.C's Eliseu Paulista got a free kick in the 6th minute. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Vitório Barral put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lino Galvão. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Adrianinho Luz sped through Minas Novas FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Matheus Zonta. Adrianinho Luz charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrianinho Luz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th match minute, BANGU F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrianinho Luz to maneuver through the defense. Silas Bertassi's late challenge caught a Minas Novas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silas Bertassi helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, BANGU F.C's Silas Bertassi got a free kick in the 21st minute. Lino Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juarês Sampaio in the 22nd minute of the match. Vitório Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Galvão having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Juarês Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Minas Novas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Juarês Sampaio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lino Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute, Juarês Sampaio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Minas Novas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The supporters of Minas Novas FC booed when BANGU F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes, Minas Novas FC's Isaltino Duarte shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lino Galvão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Minas Novas FC reached it. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Minas Novas FC's goalkeeper Matheus Zonta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Márcio de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juarês Sampaio to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Minas Novas FC's Juarês Sampaio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lino Galvão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Juarês Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Lino Galvão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Minas Novas FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vitório Lago during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Adrianinho Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Minas Novas FC's Matheus Zonta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Minas Novas FC from getting a goal against them. Aloísio Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Vitório Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Galvão having to interfere. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind BANGU F.C's goalkeeper Lino Galvão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Vitório Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in BANGU F.C's zone, Aílton Coelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lino Galvão came out of the goal and Aílton Coelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Minas Novas FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of BANGU F.C for a fine match.
