When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sydney Alcântara made a kick off. Didi Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Almir Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ibaretama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Didi Peixoto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leopoldo Severo might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Almir Alcântara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leopoldo Severo ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Ibaretama getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Germano Favoretto hit a great ball. Ibaretama walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
