The audience thought a goal was coming when Vitório Silva got free with Simão Peres in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Perizes's Valério Valadares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Moura in the 31st minute of play. In the 37th minute, Jorginho Moura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Simão Peres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Simão Peres made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Vitório Silva sent off a good shot on target. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremias Sá to strike the kick off in the second half. If Jorginho Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. Perizes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A. A. Francana the free kick. In the 78th match minute, Perizes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Figueiredo to maneuver through the defense. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Perizes! When the match had been going on for 89 minutes, A. A. Francana's Lino Zanette got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Valério Valadares. A. A. Francana's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
