Guarakessaba AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celsinho Maranhense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Romeu Cearense fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velanie FC's protests and gave Romeu Cearense a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Velanie FC's Romeu Cearense got a free kick in the 8th minute. When Luizinho Paulista came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Guarakessaba AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luizinho Paulista couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luizinho Paulista in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodrigo Quirino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rodrigo Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizinho Paulista in the 14th minute of play. Celsinho Maranhense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodrigo Quirino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Magno Koehler was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Celsinho Maranhense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarakessaba AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Celsinho Maranhense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guarakessaba AD's Luizinho Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76thth minute of the game Luizinho Paulista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Velanie FC's Rodrigo Quirino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rodrigo Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sydney Abreu in the 79th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Luizinho Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarakessaba AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Luizinho Paulista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 87 minutes into the match, Velanie FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luizinho Paulista came free, but Rodrigo Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Guarakessaba AD's Luizinho Paulista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodrigo Quirino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Guarakessaba AD booed when Velanie FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelsinho Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodrigo Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celsinho Maranhense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Guarakessaba AD fans cheered their team off the field, for while Velanie FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
