If Oscar Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chiquinho Santos was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Chiquinho Santos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Walmyr Moura was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Manoel Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. A collision led to Cupe getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Armando Bittencourt hit a great ball. During the 65th minute of the match Hugo Miranda completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hugo Miranda a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 66th minute, Hugo Miranda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Elivélton Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 70 minutes, Chiquinho Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cupe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chiquinho Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oscar Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Moura having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Cupe's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luís Loureiro came free, but Manoel Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
