But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdo Falcão couldn't finish the play. Sérgio Cordeiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Rodrigo Quirino when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 11th minute, Silas Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Velanie FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Silas Peixoto hit a great ball. Silas Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The long shot by Lino Zanette in the 16th minute really tested Rodrigo Quirino's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 16th match minute, Velanie FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. Jorginho Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Rodrigo Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonsinho de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. In the 46thth minute of the game Valdo Falcão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A. A. Francana's Simão Peres was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Magno Koehler was the one to do the kick off. Sérgio Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Quirino having to interfere. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind A. A. Francana's goalkeeper Simão Peres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, Sérgio Cordeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodrigo Quirino. Velanie FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sérgio Cordeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 70 played minutes A. A. Francana got a freekick which was hit by Breno Paes. 75 minutes into the match, A. A. Francana's Jorginho Moura sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodrigo Quirino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jorginho Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudinho Paranaense kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The A. A. Francana fans cheered their team off the field, for while Velanie FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
