Manoel Ferraz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamim Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamim Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edvaldo Silva during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cupe booed when AIK Scotland Lyonais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvaldo Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manoel Ferraz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamim Marquez in the 28th minute of play. Benjamim Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Manoel Ferraz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manoel Ferraz made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Antônio Carlos Sousa sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in AIK Scotland Lyonais's zone, Chiquinho Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandão Macedo came out of the goal and Chiquinho Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benjamim Marquez made a kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind AIK Scotland Lyonais's goalkeeper Fernandão Macedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 55 minutes into the game, Mateus Ferraz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AIK Scotland Lyonais's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cupe the free kick. In the 55th match minute, AIK Scotland Lyonais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateus Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. Vladimir Trigo hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute Oscar Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandão Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute of the match Cupe got a corner. AIK Scotland Lyonais's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The corner ended in Armando Bittencourt almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AIK Scotland Lyonais's Fernandão Macedo did a great save. When AIK Scotland Lyonais's Antônio Carlos Sousa in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Chiquinho Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Oscar Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Edvaldo Silva in the 85th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Cupe's Oscar Teixeira. Francisco Bastos scored 1-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernandão Macedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
