Dráusio de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Ricardo Cearense kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mauro Ferreira. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. The supporters of Gadelha SS booed when Seropedica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizinho Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Armando da Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Davi Matos was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. If Edvaldo Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Dráusio de Toledo fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Seropedica's protests and gave Dráusio de Toledo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Gadelha SS getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Waldemar Falcão hit a great ball. Ramiro Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. If Dráusio de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 played minutes Gadelha SS got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Guerra. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armando da Costa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Seropedica's Ricardo Cearense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mauro Ferreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Seropedica's goal looked a bit too open when Armando da Costa came free, but Davi Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armando da Costa's late challenge caught a Seropedica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armando da Costa helped the player get up and apologised. When Armando da Costa came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Gadelha SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armando da Costa couldn't finish the play. Alberto Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Edvaldo Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Davi Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Armando da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edvaldo Diniz didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-2 via right post in the game's 93rd minute. Gadelha SS's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! José Carlos Fernandez hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The Gadelha SS players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
