In the 19th minute, Erasmo Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olívio Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Ramalho having to interfere. In the 27thth minute of the game Olívio Tepedino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leyliño's Zézinho Ramalho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Fortaleza FA's Ciro Ramalho got control of the ball when Laércio Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Laércio Sousa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ciro Ramalho was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Ciro Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovani Marquez in the 44th minute of play. Anderson Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Giovani Marquez struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Ciro Ramalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leyliño. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olívio Tepedino made a kick off. After some careless play in the Fortaleza FA defense, Laércio Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ciro Ramalho. The Fortaleza FA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciro Ramalho should have stopped the shot. In the 60th minute Olívio Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Ramalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luís Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Conrado Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Cristóvão Guedes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 70 minutes had been played. Zézinho Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olívio Tepedino in the 72nd minute of the match. Luís Veiga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Zézinho Ramalho made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Leyliño had won after a very even match.
