Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sílvio Luís Baptista took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Engenho's goal looked a bit too open when Cristóvão Guedes came free, but Juarês de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Engenho's Sílvio Luís Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vitinho Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Engenho's Juarês de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Lopes in the 14th minute of play. Sílvio Luís Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Ramalho having to interfere. Juarês de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Sousa in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Lopes in the 26th minute of play forced Engenho's goalkeeper Juarês de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Engenho's attentive Manoel Vergílio managed to snatch the ball when Gil Madureira made a throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game. Zézinho Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitinho Rezende in the 35th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Laércio Sousa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leyliño fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Engenho's Juarês de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio Sousa in the 41st minute of play. Zézinho Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Giovani Marquez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Engenho booed when Leyliño was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vitinho Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vitinho Rezende blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zézinho Ramalho having to make a save. In the 57th minute, Sílvio Luís Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 58 minutes, Gil Madureira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leyliño and the Engenho players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th match minute, Leyliño was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil Madureira to maneuver through the defense. Laércio Sousa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Juarês de Souza made a huge save. Erasmo Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Vitinho Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot. Engenho's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitinho Rezende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zézinho Ramalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sílvio Luís Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zézinho Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitinho Rezende in the 86th minute of the match. After having played for 88 minutes, Vitinho Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Engenho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitinho Rezende was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Leyliño walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
