One of Fortaleza FA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gadelha SS:s goal. Afonsinho Cosme walked up to take care of the penalty kick. After 75 minutes, Waldemar Falcão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gadelha SS and the Fortaleza FA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Waldemar Falcão hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Mauro Ferreira acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 76th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Alexandre Severo. When Waldemar Falcão was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. In the 81st match minute, Gadelha SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Falcão to maneuver through the defense. Fortaleza FA's Alexandre Severo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gadelha SS. Gadelha SS's Mauro Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olívio Tepedino in the 90th minute of play. Mauro Ferreira had great luck who in the 95thth minute grab hold of the ball when Olívio Tepedino from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After 97 played minutes Gadelha SS got a freekick which was hit by Ismael Paiva. The Fortaleza FA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fortaleza FA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
