Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Paulo Travassos in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristiano Bertassi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Paulo Travassos to make the kick off. Luís Paulo Travassos struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Cristiano Bertassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sambaitiba. Sambaitiba's Vitório Fantini pulled a muscle in his back after 84 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Iuri Sanches's late challenge caught a Sambaitiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iuri Sanches helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Durvalino Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sambaitiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Durvalino Recife was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
