The supporters of Gadelha SS booed when Descalvado FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doriva Bertassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Descalvado FC's Orlando Hoffmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando da Costa in the 32nd minute of play. Germano Pinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauro Ferreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Germano Pinho scored 1-4 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mauro Ferreira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando da Costa to make the kick off.
