Flavinho Silveira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 5th playminute. In the 8th minute, Paulo José Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edu Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Bertassi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manchester United F.C.'s Flavinho Silveira was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Edu Coelho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo José Carneiro went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Jardel Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademar Garcia in the 31st minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 32nd minute of the game. One of Manchester United F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Leonels FC:s goal. Leonels FC's Jardel Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Garcia in the 36th minute of play. A throw-in in the 39th minute of the game was made by Raí Palmeira with Faustão dos Santos as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Manchester United F.C. booed when Leonels FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Paulo Pirani didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Ademar Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester United F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Ademar Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Leonels FC's zone, Flavinho Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jardel Fonseca came out of the goal and Flavinho Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

Flavinho Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Fonseca having to interfere. When Faustão dos Santos fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leonels FC's protests and gave Faustão dos Santos a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Leonels FC's Faustão dos Santos got a free kick in the 54th minute. Jardel Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavinho Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Flavinho Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Manchester United F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavinho Silveira couldn't finish the play. Raí Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Nicolas Perez hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Leonels FC's Faustão dos Santos got a free kick in the 68th minute. Flavinho Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Fonseca having to interfere. Jardel Fonseca came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United F.C.'s Telmo Tasso. But to his dismay, Telmo Tasso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. Flavinho Silveira took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jardel Fonseca. Jardel Fonseca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-2. Renatinho de Souza lost his temper 97 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 96th minute, one of Manchester United F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Manchester United F.C.. The goalkeeper, Edu Coelho, was totally fooled by Leonels FC's Simão Vinhas, who 99 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Manchester United F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
