Nilson Favoretto's late challenge caught a Caatiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilson Favoretto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 28th match minute, Alcatéia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilson Favoretto to maneuver through the defense. When João Augusto Custódio fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alcatéia FC's protests and gave João Augusto Custódio a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Alcatéia FC got a freekick which was hit by João Augusto Custódio. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Campidelis to make the kick off. Caatiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano de Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jardel da Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Caatiba fully deserved thier win.
