The referee gave Márcio Viana a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Márcio Viana hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Eurico Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Luiz Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Peruíbe FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Hílton Sousa hit a great ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Luisão Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peruíbe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisão Vaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Waldir Castro managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Peruíbe FC's Luisão Vaz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 26 played minutes Peruíbe FC got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Faria. Anderson Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldir Castro having to interfere. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Meira in the 40th minute of play. When Luisão Vaz came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Peruíbe FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luisão Vaz couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luisão Vaz made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Luisão Vaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peruíbe FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisão Vaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Castro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zézinho Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Maracai F.C's Eurico Meira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. In the 63rd minute Marcel Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 minutes, Luisão Vaz made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Maracai F.C's Waldir Castro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 77 minutes into the game, Raphael Pimenta threw the ball into play from the sideline. Maracai F.C's Edgar Teles quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 79thth minute of the game Luisão Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maracai F.C's Waldir Castro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th match minute, Maracai F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otávio Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. Peruíbe FC's Anderson Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Peruíbe FC's Luisão Vaz in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maracai F.C's goalie prevented a goal. Anderson Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute, Edgar Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Peruíbe FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
