After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Mineiro's Benedito Lopes got a free kick in the 24th minute. Delfim da Fonseca, 25 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Leonardo Bezerra struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Genílson Loyola to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Cleiton Pimenta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jaguar Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Atlético Mineiro the free kick. Almir Araújo made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Gernando Araújo sent off a good shot on target. Clube Atlético Mineiro's Olavo Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genílson Loyola in the 94th minute of play. The Clube Atlético Mineiro players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
